It’s possible for an insurance company to obtain a reimbursement without any initial expense. In this case, a negative claim amount appearing in brackets will display on the CARFAX Canada Vehicle History Report.
While reported as a negative amount, it’s often reflective of either the amount paid by insurance to repair or replace the vehicle, or it may be the recovery amount. Therefore, it doesn’t always equal the actual claim payout amount.
